I am increasingly packaging up my research, work projects, and speaking engagements around the framework of “mission effectiveness”. I believe this is an incredibly powerful way to look at what outcomes we are working towards whether in our organizations or at an individual level. The framework is my attempt to simplify and clarify our thinking in a world that — through adding extra layers of complexity and confusion to straightforward concepts — makes things much more difficult to understand and master than they need to be. Comments on the newsletter itself and on the mission effectiveness framework are welcome — do you find it useful? Can you apply it to helping you think about your own mission?
